Recently, the Digital Skills Hub collaborated with BCHA and the Good Things Foundation just in time for Get Online Week (October 14-20), the UK’s largest digital inclusion campaign. This annual event aims to raise awareness about the importance of digital skills and provide opportunities for people to get connected and develop essential online abilities.
To bring attention to the challenges of living without digital skills, TV personality Gail Porter took on the challenge of spending an entire week offline. Following this experience, she visited the Hub, which is part of the National Digital Inclusion Network.
During her visit, Gail met with our dedicated Hub team and joined one of our computer skills courses. She also had the chance to speak with Ann, a participant who transformed from a digital beginner to a digital champion through our free Digital Discovery courses.

Get Online Week is a reminder of the vital role digital skills play in today’s world. Initiatives like this empower individuals and bridge the digital divide, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive in an increasingly online environment.
